Getting started with Great Relationships, Sex and Health education.
A confidence boosting tour in navigating all you need to know before you start delivering any RSHE. This course is suitable for primary and secondary teachers. It is also suitable for youth workers and school nurses who are new to delivering RSE.
We will cover:
Creative and Participatory Approaches for Great Relationships and Sex Education
This session explores a huge variety of session ideas from Great Relationships and Sex Education- 200+ Activities for Educators Working with Young People.This course is for PSHE teachers, youth workers and school nurses who want to gain a wide range of new tried and tested activity ideas for delivering Great Relationships and Sex education. (at least 60% of the content is suitable for primary teachers too or we can offer a separate primary focused course on request.). If you want ideas to support teaching about safer spaces, bodies, relationships, sexuality, sexual health, gender and sexual equality and how to conclude the learning effectively then this is the course for you! If you are new to RSE it is recommended you do the Getting Started with Great RSE course first before doing this course.
We will cover:
Relationships and Sex Education for Neurodivergent/SEND Learners
This course is for mainstream and specialist practitioners working with neurodivergent (ND)/SEND young people and wanting to address Relationships and Sex Education with them. This course is mainly for practitioners working with 11+ young people but a version of this course for Parents and for Practitioners working with Early years and Primary Aged children is also available on request.
The course will cover:
Becoming a Sensory Aware Setting- Tools that support Sensory Wellbeing for all.
This course is for mainstream and specialist practitioners working with children and young people particularly those with sensory needs, or those with an interest in how the senses can impact our wellbeing. It uses material from Alice Hoyle's forthcoming book "Becoming a Sensory Aware School". Whilst some settings are doing amazing work in supporting sensory needs for neurodivergent pupils particularly, it feels like there is a gap in universal recognition that everyone has sensory needs. This book argues the importance working together to understand and support both individual and collective sensory needs, to improve the overall whole sensory wellbeing for everyone in the setting.
